Three Bates White experts are involved in sessions at the 11th Annual Conference of the American Society of Health Economists:
- On June 27, Partner Fred Selck will present on the panel “Being a Health Economist: Working in Government, Think Tanks, Health Insurance, Consulting Firms, and Pharmaceutical Companies.” Panelists from all these settings will discuss what/how/and for whom health economists contribute in each of these settings, including types of research projects and responsibilities, with whom health economists collaborate the most, and the main consumers of their work and sources of funding. See more here.
- On June 29, Partner Cory Capps is the discussant for the paper “The Impact of Hospital-Physician Integration on Referral Networks: Evidence from Oncologists.” The paper examines the referral network restrictions that result from hospital-physician integration and considers their implications for both newly integrating and independent oncologists in geographically defined markets. See more here.
- On June 29, a paper co-authored by Principal Ben Wolfert will be discussed. “Life After FDA Approval: Repurposing, Line Extensions, and Off-Label Use” uses quarterly product-level data from IQVIA’s US ChannelDynamics to assess the extent to which launch line extensions are market-expanding versus cannibalizing, taking into account both absolute and relative volumes of the original formulation.
