At the 28th Electric Power in the West conference, Principal Carolyn Berry will speak in the session “Energy Market Economics: Global Events and Their Impact on Electric Markets in the West.” Russia's invasion of Ukraine has had a major impact on global gas supplies, while climate change is bringing record heat and wildfires that have impacted supplies of, and demand for, electric power in the region. Dr. Berry will address how Russia’s invasion is driving energy markets and lessons learned for the future, while her co-presenter Nicolai Schlag will speak about the effect of hotter weather and drought on supply and demand.
