Partner Slava Zayats chaired the session “Antitrust and Regulation in Digital Markets” at the 21st Annual International Industrial Organization Conference. This is the primary gathering for economists showcasing their research on antitrust policy, regulatory policy, and competition and market power in real-world markets. In Dr. Zayats’ session, three papers were presented and discussed:
- “Mandated Platform Compatibility: Competition and Welfare Effects” presented by Georgios Petropoulos of Massachusetts Institute of Technology with Filomena Garcia from Indiana University as discussant
- “The Rise of User Concentration in the Mobil App Market” presented by Ufeng Huang of the University of Rochester with Yanyou Chen of the University of Toronto as discussant
- “Search and Price Formation with Incomplete Information,” presented by Aaron Barkley of the University of Melbourne with Bernhard Ganglmair of the University of Mannheim as discussant.
