Partner Nicholas Hill and Manager Mathis Wagner have written an article that was accepted for inclusion in the conference program for the 18th Annual International Industrial Organization Conference. In “Heterogeneous Effects of Consolidation on Premiums in Medicare Part D,” Drs. Hill and Wagner use the example of the merger between CVS and Universal American to show that the benefits of the private provision of public health insurance coverage can be undermined if excess consolidation among private insurers is permitted.
The conference, May 1–3, 2020, includes panels and sessions on topics in industrial organization, including antitrust economics and regulation.
