In November 2022, Indonesia and a group of nations including the United States and Japan announced a climate finance deal to help Indonesia curb its reliance on coal and facilitate its transition to a carbon-free energy system. This deal, known as the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP), includes a mixture of public and private loans, grants, and investment.
