Bates White is pleased to announce the promotion of three individuals to Partner: Christopher Bennett, Ilan Guedj, and Arun Sharma.

Chris Bennett is a senior member of the Finance Practice and an expert in statistical sampling, financial modeling, and econometrics. He has published in leading academic journals, provided expert witness testimony in deposition and at trial, and served as a consulting expert supporting counsel at top law firms and government agencies on numerous high-profile cases. Having served in testifying and consulting roles across a variety of cases, Dr. Bennett has gained significant experience in all phases of litigation and is adept at distilling complex economic, financial, and statistical arguments and analyses for use in testimony, cross-examination, and trial exhibits.
Ilan Guedj is a consulting and testifying expert in Bates White’s Finance Practice. Dr. Guedj has testified on matters relating to investments, financial instruments and risk. In addition, he conducts quantitative analyses such as sampling and extrapolation, causation and liability, and damages estimation. Dr. Guedj has also served as a consulting expert on antitrust litigations involving financial products and institutions, such as the LIBOR litigation. His experience at Bates White includes work on a breadth of securities cases involving spoofing, foreign exchange trading, valuation and bond trading. Prior to Bates White, Dr. Guedj was an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Texas in Austin.
Arun Sharma has more than 15 years of experience, primarily focused on the healthcare and life sciences industries. He has provided expert economic analyses on a wide range of topics, including health plan coverage and reimbursements, mergers, market power and monopolization, health plan network issues, pharmaceutical pricing, class certification, and commercial success. He has also provided expert written and deposition testimony as well as consulting services to inside and outside counsel, industry and association clients, and government agencies. Mr. Sharma has led large and complex litigation and consulting engagements, where he combines his deep industry knowledge with economic and statistical analyses to answer relevant questions. He has provided expert services in the context of Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), False Claims Act, antitrust litigation, California Unfair Competition Law, Inter Partes Review, and other legal frameworks.
