On April 29, 2021, Academic Affiliate Leemore Dafny testified before the US House Subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial, and Administrative Law. In her testimony, “How Health Care Consolidation Is Contributing to Higher Prices and Spending, and Reforms That Could Bolster Antitrust Enforcement and Preserve and Promote Competition in Health Care Markets,” Dr. Dafny testified that high and rising provider prices are driving higher healthcare spending and that the pandemic should not delay actions to prevent anticompetitive consolidation. Dr. Dafny also outlined several reforms that could bolster antitrust enforcement and preserve and promote competition in healthcare markets
