Summary
Mr. McClelland is a partner who plays a key role in overseeing and implementing the firm’s operational priorities, with a particular focus on technical areas. He has responsibility for practice oversight and management both within and across practice areas. Mr. McClelland also plays a key role in assessing the firm’s internal business systems and evaluating technology strategies to enhance processes and serve clients. Key among his responsibilities is his leadership role on the Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity Committees. He also has responsibility for coordinating the firm’s pro bono efforts.
Mr. McClelland also works directly with clients in antitrust and finance matters regarding complex litigation and settlement negotiation. He has managed multiple teams to provide economic analyses, data mining, database development and management, discovery support, and research for numerous client engagements. He directs teams responsible for discovery support, data and damages analyses, and settlement and mediation support for opt-out plaintiff groups. He also works with clients on defense matters to resolve civil exposure for both class and opt-out litigation, devise settlement strategies, and assist with responding to government investigations.

- On behalf of numerous direct-action plaintiffs in In re Rail Freight Fuel Surcharge Antitrust Litigation, co-led the team in calculating overcharges from defendants’ alleged conspiracy to increase the price of rail freight transportation services in the United States in part by agreeing on and imposing unreasonable fuel surcharges.
- In a European price-fixing case, providing expert consulting on data development and settlement strategy.
- Retained by a litigation funder to provide due diligence prior to submitting a bid for claim in a large healthcare matter.
- Provided expert support in the LIBOR-based Financial Instruments Antitrust Litigation on behalf of a class of over-the-counter plaintiffs—the OTC class—that filed a class action lawsuit against the global banks that set US Dollar LIBOR.
