Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board testimony
On behalf of the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (NSUARB), Vincent Musco and Karen Morgan testified in hearings before NSUARB on Nova Scotia Power Inc.’s Base Cost of Fuel Application Testimony regarding the calculation of rates, as well as on the reasonableness of the underlying commodity price forecasts and hedging strategies; and on an application by Nova Scotia Power Inc.’s Maritime Link to recover costs associated with the Maritime Link, an undersea transmission project moving hydropower from Labrador to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. In 2019 Bates White’s consulting team assessed Nova Scotia Power, Inc.’s proposed rates for recovery of fuel and purchased power costs over the 2020–2022 period, and Bates White is currently advising the Board in reviewing Nova Scotia Power’s long-term integrated resource plan.
