Maryland Public Service Commission testimony on applications to offshore wind procurement process
Collin Cain submitted written testimony on behalf of Ørsted, the largest developer of offshore wind generating facilities globally, in a Maryland Public Service Commission proceeding concerning applications to the state’s offshore wind procurement process. The testimony summarized the results of cost-benefit analyses for two proposed offshore wind projects of approximately 320 megawatts (MW) and 760 MW, respectively, incremental to Ørsted’s Skipjack 1 project, which is currently under development off the Delmarva coast. The analyses estimated local economic impacts from project development and operation, air pollution emissions reduction benefits, and the value of energy and capacity sold into the PJM wholesale markets over a 20-year contract period.
