Akane Suzuki will address pitfalls and estate planning planning opportunities that arise when counseling families with assets and family members in multiple jurisdictions as a featured panelist in the session "The World is Flat: Planning for Global Families" on November 12, 2018, at the 63rd Annual Estate Planning Seminar hosted by The Estate Planning Council of Seattle and the University of Washington School of Law. Topics include U.S. tax rules that apply to non-U.S. persons and to U.S. persons with foreign assets, and foreign succession law considerations that may arise when planning for U.S. persons who live or have assets abroad.
