The 2015 Women’s Bench Bar Conference will be held on Tuesday, November 10 from 9:30am – 1:00pm at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick, NJ. The conference, titled “From New Jersey to the World: Are Women Human?” will feature a panel discussion on women and human rights issues, and is being co-sponsored by the Women in the Profession Section of the NJSBA; the non-profit International Justice Project; Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP; and the Monmouth University Leon Hess School of Business.
Topics will include:
- Gender-based crimes and use of sexual violence against women as a weapon of war
- Representation of victims in genocide in Darfur at the International Criminal Court
- Universal declaration of human rights
- Business and human rights issues and their impact on women
- Human rights defenders
The Honorable Madeline Cox Arleo, United States District Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, will be the honored guest at the conference. Panelists include Greenbaum attorneys Raymond M. Brown (Chair of our Corporate & International Human Rights Compliance Practice Group and Co-Founder of the International Justice Project) and Stephanie G. Reckord (Chair of the NJSBA Women in the Profession Section).
