Maura E. Blau, Counsel in the firm’s Environmental Department, is on the faculty for a live webcast on “2019 Trends and Developments in the Energy Sector: What Lies Ahead.” The program, to be presented on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 3:00pm – 4:00pm (ET), is sponsored by The Knowledge Group.
Since his first year in office, President Trump has attempted to reverse a number of energy-related policies through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Many of these Obama-era policies, which include the Clean Power Plan (CPP), corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) standards, and the “methane rule”, are related to climate change. The current deregulation trend in the energy sector is expected to continue under new EPA Acting Head, Andrew Wheeler.
This program will provide an in-depth analysis of the current regulatory trends and legal developments in the energy sector. The panel will offer useful insights on what to expect in 2019 and beyond, in light of the current updates.
Key topics will include:
- Regulatory Updates:
- CPP
- CAFE Standards
- Methane Rule
- Notable Judicial Rulings
- Legislative Developments
- Deregulation: Implications to the Energy Sector
- Outlook
