David B. Farer, Chair of the firm’s Environmental Department, will be chairing and lecturing in an audio webcast/telephone seminar addressing the latest case law developments in contractual allocation of environmental risks in transactions.
“Allocating Environmental Risk in Transactions: Case Law and Drafting Tips” will be presented on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 1:30pm – 2:30pm (ET).
The program will explore the unique issues faced by transactional lawyers when drafting clauses to protect clients from future environmental liability claims, including analyses of recent case law developments impacting environmental liability and a review of specific contract clauses in detail to provide practical examples for drafting agreements.
Mr. Farer will be joined for the program by his colleague and frequent lecture companion Gene A. Lucero, a leading practitioner in the environmental law field. Mr. Lucero recently retired from the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins, where he served as Chair of the firm’s Global Environment, Land and Resource Department. He continues to work on several long-running Superfund matters and consults on environmental strategy and regulatory issues.
