Jack Fersko, co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate Department, will co-moderate and lecture during the live webinar on “Advanced Commercial Leasing and COVID-19: 2020/21 Update,” which will be presented by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 9:00am – 3:00pm. The program is the latest in a series of annual presentations that Mr. Fersko and David Gordon (of Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, PA) have been developing for NJICLE since the 1990s.
2020 has been a challenging year for commercial real estate. The retail sector was already facing significant pressure from online businesses before COVID appeared, and its onset has challenged it even more. The office sector faces mounting pressure, as working from home has become the norm and may stay the norm. Notwithstanding these challenges, commercial leasing continues to be active and both traditional and pandemic related issues require attention. This webinar, featuring some of the country’s most seasoned real estate practitioners, will explore commercial real estate issues against the backdrop of these recent developments.
Mr. Fersko will present a segment on “New COVID Leasing Issues” during the program. Greenbaum partner Lydia C. Stefanowicz, a member of the Real Estate Department, will present a segment on the “Basics of Estoppels, SNDAs & Landlord Waivers.” Other topics to be addressed in the full day presentation include:
- Small Tenant Issues
- Assignment & Subletting
- Basics of Insurance & Indemnification
- Covid Related Lease Litigation
- Ethics
