Steven G. Mlenak, member of the firm’s Redevelopment & Land Use and Real Estate Departments, will be on the faculty for the program “Building a Better NJ: Regulatory, Legislative & Legal Update,” to be presented by NAIOP-NJ on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 7:45am – 11:30am at the Rutgers Bloustein School Auditorium in New Brunswick.
From recent court decisions on redevelopment & affordable housing, to bills moving through the Legislature and the latest regulatory compliance issues, Mr. Mlenak and his fellow panelists will focus on the laws, regulations and court actions that commercial real estate professionals must know.
Topics will include: Site Remediation, Alternative Fill, LOI Filing and Tank Rules; Wetlands, Coastal, Flood Hazard Control, Stormwater Management and Public Access; Incentives & PILOTs; Fire Code & Safety; recently enacted MLUL & HDSRF reform laws; "Reverse" Tax Appeals, and more.
NJDEP Commissioner Catherine McCabe has been confirmed to give keynote remarks.
Mr. Mlenak's practice is focused in the areas of redevelopment, land use, zoning, and real estate development. His clients include property owners and developers engaged in mixed use, residential, industrial, commercial, office, retail and affordable housing development projects. Mr. Mlenak provides guidance from the initial project concept through to construction, including land use planning and approvals, permits and variances and appearances before municipal, county and state planning and zoning boards and agencies. Mr. Mlenak also maintains a strong practice in the area of community association law, providing strategic guidance and general counseling to condominium and homeowners association clients across a broad range of legal issues.
