Christine F. Li, a partner in the firm’s Community Association Practice Group, will be joined by Francis J. McGovern, Esq., a member of McGovern Legal Services, as co-presenters of “Condominium and Community Association Law.” The program is being sponsored by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation and will be held on March 29, 2012 from 7:00 - 9:00pm at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick.
Condominium and other common interest communities are popular and often affordable housing alternatives for both owners and renters. Residents share facilities, benefit from services and the use of recreational amenities, and contribute their share of the costs to operate and maintain the common facilities.
Ms. Li and Mr. McGovern, experienced attorneys in community association law, will discuss the special issues faced by condominiums and present solutions to financial and operational problems which have increased in difficult economic times. They will also discuss the benefits of condominium ownership, and will provide suggestions for enhancing the advantages of condominium living and the financial value of investments made by owners.
The program will address common legal and financial problems faced by these communities, tips for working with the association and its board, the services of professionals such as property managers and accountants, issues in buying and selling condominium units, and tactics for litigating and resolving disputes.
