Mark H. Sobel, Co-Managing Partner and Chair of the firm’s Family Law Department, will be a moderator at this year’s “Family Law Summer Institute,” sponsored by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education in cooperation with the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section. The 2-day program will take place on July 28 and 29 at the Law Center in New Brunswick, NJ. The Hon. Glenn Berman (Ret.), Of Counsel in the Litigation Department, and Barry S. Sobel, an Associate in the firm’s Family Law Department, will serve as panelists at the program.
The two-day program will review important aspects of New Jersey divorce law and matrimonial practice. A panel of family law judges, attorneys and experts will also address practical issues such as how to attract clients and build a practice, conduct client interviews, deal with adversaries, and negotiate, settle and try cases. The program will feature presentations and panel discussions, and will allow for audience participation.
Mark Sobel concentrates his practice in litigation, primarily in the area of family law and with an emphasis on the representation of high net-worth individuals. He provides counsel across all aspects of family law, including prenuptial agreements, separation and divorce proceedings, the distribution of property and other marital assets, spousal and child support, custody and relocation. Mr. Sobel represents clients at trial, in mediations and arbitrations, and at post judgment modification and enforcement hearings. He is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney.
Judge Berman focuses his practice on mediation, arbitration, and discovery management of complex family, commercial, estate/probate, real estate and general equity matters. His practice area also encompasses special master services, settlement conferences and law enforcement investigations.
Barry Sobel focuses his practice on family law and civil litigation. His experience includes complex commercial litigation, business and shareholder disputes, employment law issues and general equity matters. Mr. Sobel’s experience also includes personal injury litigation and white-collar criminal investigations.
