Glenn Berman, Of Counsel in the Firm’s Litigation Department, will be a faculty member at an upcoming seminar on “Handling the Media in Cases with Notoriety: A Lawyer’s Guide.” The presentation is sponsored by the C. Willard Heckel Inn of Court andtheRutgers Institute for Professional Education, and will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Rutgers School of Law-Newark, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.

The seminar will explore the difficult choices attorneys are faced with in dealing with high profile cases which draw media attention. Attendees will learn what they and their clients should say and do from the perspectives of the bench, bar and media, while staying safely within the Rules of Professional Conduct.

Prior to his retirement from the bench on January 1, 2013, Judge Berman served as one of two judges assigned to the Chancery Part - General Equity, where he presided over probate, foreclosure, and complex commercial disputes. During this time, he was also designated as Acting Criminal Part Presiding Judge and as Acting Assignment Judge. Since returning to private practice, he focuses in mediation, arbitration, and discovery management of complex family, commercial, estate/probate, and general equity matters, as well as law enforcement investigations.
