Greenbaum partners Gary S. Forshner and Steven Nudelman, will be on the faculty for the seminar “Residential Construction Liens: Filing and Practice Strategies for Prosecution and Defense,” to be presented by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education on Monday, March 23, 2020 from 9:00am – 12:15pm at the New Jersey Law Center.  The program will be presented by NJICLE in cooperation with the Construction Law and Real Property, Tax and Estate Law sections of the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Since the New Jersey Construction Lien Law was amended in 1994, residential construction liens have continued to gain prominence in real estate projects ranging from small single-family homes to condominium developments with hundreds of units. This program will review the special requirements of the lien law for residential projects in the State of New Jersey. In addition to looking at the evolution of the statute and the key differences between commercial and residential liens, the speakers will focus on the nuts and bolts of defending against residential construction liens.

Mr. Forshner is co-Chair of the firm’s Redevelopment & Land Use Department.  He concentrates his commercial real estate practice in the areas of land use, zoning, real estate development and redevelopment. He represents local, national and international developers, property owners and other business clients engaged in mixed use, residential, industrial, office, retail and affordable housing development projects. Mr. Forshner is a past Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Land Use Section.

Mr. Nudelman is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department and a member of the Construction Practice Group.  Concentrating his practice in construction law, he has defended and asserted claims on behalf of owners, developers, condominium associations, general contractors, design professionals, subcontractors, vendors and sureties involved in public and private construction projects throughout the New Jersey and New York metropolitan area. Mr. Nudelman is a Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America and is co-Vice Chair of the NJSBA Construction Law Section.
