Jemi Goulian Lucey, a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and Employment Law Practice Group, is the organizer and moderator of a program on “Title IX: Hot Topics” to be presented at the New Jersey State Bar Association’s 2018 Annual Meeting and Convention, which takes place May 16-18, 2018 at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City. Ms. Lucey’s program is scheduled for Thursday, May 17 from 10:30am – 11:45am.
The program will cover a brief history of Title IX, the scope of Title IX in athletic programs in higher education and beyond, including protecting the rights of the LGBT community, and a discussion of the hostile educational environment theory under Title IX.
Ms. Lucey concentrates her practice on commercial litigation, employment litigation and professional negligence defense. She represents clients across a broad range of matters, including construction and engineering, civil fraud and business torts, employment related matters, commercial contract disputes, banking and professional malpractice.
