David B. Farer, Chair of the firm’s Environmental Department, will conduct an in-depth interview with David J. Hayes, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior, during the 2012 annual meeting of the American College of Environmental Lawyers (ACOEL) in Washington, DC. The October 19, 2012 interview will be recorded for posting on the ACOEL website and will also be available for streaming.

Mr. Farer and Mr. Hayes are expected to discuss a number of timely and important issues involving the Department of the Interior and the current administration’s priorities, including renewable energy projects, conventional energy development, the balancing of conservation with the nation's energy development needs, initiatives in Indian Country, water rights, climate change and the Great Outdoors Initiative.

Mr. Farer was the first New Jersey lawyer to be appointed as a fellow in ACOEL, a highly selective professional association of preeminent lawyers who concentrate in the field of environmental law. He is a member of the ACOEL Executive Committee and serves as co-chair of the group’s Program and Education Committee.
