Waeger are contributing authors to the newly published “Environmental Aspects of Real Estate and Commercial Transactions: Acquisition, Development, and Liability Management (American Bar Association, Fifth Edition, 2021).

This comprehensive guide examines the issues, problems and pitfalls that may arise at the intersection of real estate, business, and environmental law. This practical resource has been completely updated to cover the entire range of environmental issues that arise when real estate is acquired, developed, operated, sold, financed or is the subject of a work-out, with all chapters substantially revised from previous editions to reflect changes in law and practice.

Mr. Farer, who has authored the book’s chapter on “Transaction-Triggered Environmental Laws” since its initial publication, collaborated with Mr. Jaffe on updating that chapter for the latest edition. Ms. Waeger continues as the sole author of the chapter on “Current Insurance Policies for Insuring against Environmental Risks,” a task she has assumed from the book’s first edition. 

David B. FarerMr. Farer concentrates his practice on the impact of environmental laws on transactions and real property in New Jersey and around the nation. A nationally renowned environmental lawyer, he has been on the cutting edge of developments in the environmental sector since the 1980s. He is Co-Chair of the firm’s Environmental Department and a Fellow and former President of the American College of Environmental Lawyers.

Jay A. JaffeMr. Jaffe focuses his practice in environmental transactional and administrative law. He represents developers, property and business owners, landlords and tenants, manufacturers, and other clients on a broad range of environmental legal issues. He joins Mr. Farer as Co-Chair of the Environmental Department.

Ann M. WaegerMs. Waeger’s practice encompasses the purchase, sale and leasing of industrial and commercial real estate, the formation of business entities and the financing of industrial and commercial real property and business assets. She has a special focus on environmental issues in the transactional setting, including the use of environmental insurance policies as a risk management tool.
