Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP is pleased to announce that Jack Fersko, Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Department, has been elected a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

The Fellows of the American Bar Foundation comprise a global honorary society of attorneys, judges, law faculty, and legal scholars whose public and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the highest principles of the legal profession and to the welfare of their communities. Membership in the Fellows is limited to one percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. Fellows are recommended by their peers and elected by the American Bar Foundation’s Board. They support the work of the American Bar Foundation as one of the world's leading research institutes for the empirical and interdisciplinary study of law, seeking to advance the understanding and improvement of law through research projects of unmatched scale and quality on the most pressing issues facing the legal system in the United States and the world.

Mr. Fersko’s practice reflects his extensive experience as a commercial real estate and general business lawyer. His legal services emphasize industrial and commercial real estate activities, with a particular focus on industrial leasing, project financing, sustainable development and alternative energy initiatives, urban redevelopment, the impact of environmental laws on commercial real estate transactions (including the acquisition and redevelopment of environmentally contaminated sites) and the business and legal impacts of a New Jersey-based cannabis industry.

Mr. Fersko is a Fellow in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. He is a national NAIOP member and serves on the Board of Trustees of NAIOP New Jersey and on the Rutgers Business School Center for Real Estate Advisory Board. He is a Council member of the American Bar Association Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section, serves on the Executive Committee of the Industrial and Office Real Estate Brokers Association, and is active in the New Jersey State Bar Association as a member of the Cannabis Law Special Committee, as Co-Chair of the Corporate-Transactional Subcommittee, and as a member of the Renewable Energy, Cleantech and Climate Change Committee.
