Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP is proud to announce that Joel Clymer, a partner in the firm’s Employment Law and Litigation Departments, will be honored by the Garden State Bar Association (GSBA) and the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law in recognition of his contributions and service to the Bar.
Mr. Clymer has been selected by the GSBA to receive a “Professional Lawyer of the Year” award from the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law. In cooperation with bar associations across the state, these awards are presented to lawyers who are respected by colleagues for their character, competence, and exemplary professional behavior. Mr. Clymer will be recognized at the Professionalism Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township.
The GSBA has also named Mr. Clymer as the recipient of this year’s prestigious “Raymond A. Brown Award,” which honors attorneys whose service to the community and unique application of legal skills have improved and enhanced the African American experience in New Jersey and beyond. Mr. Clymer will receive his award at the GSBA’s 49th Anniversary Scholarship & Awards Gala on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Maritime Parc in Jersey City.
Mr. Clymer comments: "I am deeply honored to receive these dual recognitions from my peers, which from my perspective reflect the indisputable truth that staunch professionalism and service to the black legal community (and beyond) are mutually dependent."
Currently serving as Treasurer of the GSBA, Mr. Clymer concentrates his practice on employment litigation and counseling, with a primary focus on management. He is a member of the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion leadership team. He is listed in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch and in Super Lawyers – New Jersey Rising Stars in his areas of practice. In 2023, he was honored by the National Bar Association as a “40 Under 40 Nation’s Best Advocates” award recipient. In 2022, he was named on the New Jersey Law Journal’s list of "New Leaders of the Bar" and was also selected for inclusion by NJBIZ as a “Forty Under 40” honoree.
