Steven Nudelman, Chair of the firm’s Construction Contracting & Risk Management Practice Group and a partner in the Litigation Department, has been reappointed to the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Complementary Dispute Resolution (CDR) for its 2023-2025 term.  The appointment, his fourth consecutive term, is effective September 1, 2023, through August 31, 2025.

The Committee on CDR oversees and implements the rules governing the Supreme Court’s CDR practice, which includes mediation, arbitration, and settlement proceedings. The Committee evaluates these programs and the standards for selecting and training mediators and arbitrators.  CDR programs are available to help parties resolve disputes in a variety of actions, including family law and matrimonial disputes, personal injury claims, landlord-tenant disputes and small claims matters. In addition, the Committee examines and makes recommendations to the Court regarding rules, policies and procedures governing the Court's arbitration program.   

Mr. Nudelman concentrates his practice in construction law. For over 25 years he has represented members of the construction industry across a broad spectrum of matters. On the transactional side, Mr. Nudelman works with owners and developers, construction managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and design professionals to prepare and negotiate contract documents for construction in the New Jersey and New York metropolitan area.  This work helps his clients manage the risk inherent in construction projects so they may adequately protect their interests now to avoid claims in the future. When disputes are unavoidable, however, Mr. Nudelman draws upon his wide-ranging experience in construction litigation, representing clients in state and federal courts throughout the New Jersey/New York metropolitan area, as well as in local and international mediations and arbitrations. He has defended and asserted claims on behalf of owners, developers, condominium associations, general contractors, design professionals, subcontractors, vendors and sureties involved in public and private construction projects.
