• Export controls:  Wiley Rein attorneys regularly counsel companies that export products or technologies abroad on export control requirements imposed by the U.S. Departments of Commerce and State, including product classification issues and voluntary disclosures of potential violations.  
• Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA):  The FCPA prohibits a variety of U.S. and foreign parties from bribing foreign officials for the purpose of gaining business advantage.  Wiley Rein advises U.S.and foreign companies on developing, implementing and reviewing FCPA compliance programs, and on familiarizing overseas branches and employees with such programs.  Our attorneys have also conducted internal investigations related to potential FCPA violations and provided advice to buyers and sellers regarding FCPA due diligence in mergers and acquisitions.
• Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS):  Our practice group has extensive experience guiding clients through transactions which may affect the national security interests of the United States and are thus subject to CFIUS review. Our work includes the negotiation of national security, proxy and special security agreements.
• Economic sanctions:  We provide transaction counseling, risk assessment and compliance-program development services to ensure U.S. and foreign companies maintain compliance with the variety of economic sanctions imposed by the United States, which are largely administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
• Anti-Boycott Laws:  We offer experience in advising international companies with regard to the Anti-Boycott Laws, which seek to counteract the participation of U.S. citizens in other nations' economic boycotts or embargoes.
