FCC Wireless Deputy Bureau Chief Scott Delacourt to Return to Wiley Rein & Fielding
Washington, DC—Wiley Rein & Fielding is pleased to announce that Scott D. Delacourt, Deputy Bureau Chief of the Federal Communications Commission’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, will return to the firm as Of Counsel in its preeminent Communications Practice effective January 3, 2006. Mr. Delacourt, who began his legal career as an associate with the firm, will join the more than a dozen former FCC officials practicing communications law at WRF and will add to the firm’s unparalleled experience and expertise in this field. He will advise clients on a wide range of wireless and broadband telecommunications issues.
As Deputy Bureau Chief, Mr. Delacourt was the lead FCC official responsible for reviewing several billion dollar wireless transactions, including the Sprint/Nextel, Cingular/AT&T Wireless and ALLTEL/Western Wireless mergers. Prior to serving as Deputy Bureau Chief, Mr. Delacourt was the Bureau’s Chief of Staff. He has also served as Senior Counsel in the Office of General Counsel and as a Legal Advisor to the Wireless Bureau Chief. During his tenure at the Agency, Mr. Delacourt represented the FCC and Wireless Bureau as a speaker at all manner of domestic and international events, including engagements in Hungary, Nigeria and Japan.

An active member of the Federal Communications Bar Association, Mr. Delacourt has served on the Association’s Executive Committee and as a Trustee and Secretary of the FCBA Foundation. He currently serves as co-chair of its Wireless Practice Committee.
