Wiley Rein & Fielding Health Care Attorneys Recognized as Experts in Their Field

March 7, 2006

Washington, DC—Kirk J. Nahra and Dorthula H. Powell-Woodson, co-chairs of Wiley Rein & Fielding’s Health Care Practice, have been recognized as experts in their field in the inaugural edition of the Guide to the Leading US Healthcare Lawyers.  Part of Legal Media Group’s Expert Guides series, this directory identifies “pre-eminent practitioners” in the area of health care law.  Inclusion is based on surveys distributed to senior health care law practitioners and in-house counsel.

Mr. Nahra and Ms. Powell-Woodson, along with WRF partner Kathryn Bucher, lead WRF’s Health Care team, which represents health plans, health care providers, pharmaceutical companies and other health-related entities in connection with federal and state health care programs, as well as with the application of federal law to commercial health businesses.  Mr. Nahra specializes in health care, privacy, information security, compliance program and insurance fraud issues for the health care and property/casualty insurance industries and others facing legal obligations on these issues.  Ms. Powell-Woodson counsels clients on health care and government contracting, contract administration, state and federal regulatory compliance and procurement matters.  She advises clients on Medicare, TRICARE, the Federal Employees Health Benefits and Medicaid programs.
