Wiley Rein Attorneys Ensure Proper Child Support Payments in Pro Bono Divorce Case
Wiley Rein associates and Katie L. Cooperman have secured a positive outcome for a pro bono client involved in a divorce case in DC Superior Court. The case, obtained through the DC Bar Pro Bono Clinic, involved disputes over living arrangements, division of property and custody of four children, including one child with a history of emotional illness.
Ms. Salley and Ms. Cooperman took discovery, filed numerous pleadings and represented the client in court on several occasions. At one hearing, the attorneys fought a proposed decrease in child support, and were able to get our client’s child support increased, rather than reduced.
The court entered the final judgment of divorce earlier this month, with virtually all of the findings of fact, conclusions of law and allocations of debt and property that the client had sought.
