MHz Networks Names Award for Communications Partner Richard Bodorff

MHz Networks, an independent, noncommercial television broadcaster that uses media to foster cultural understanding and tolerance, has named the Richard Bodorff Volunteer Award after Wiley Rein Communications Practice partner Richard J. Bodorff.  The award honors Washington, DC-area individuals who provide pro-bono expertise to local non-profit organizations focused on international and/or multi-cultural education and understanding. 

Mr. Bodorff, who represents radio and television broadcasters in federal regulatory matters, has served on the Board of Commonwealth Public Broadcasting Corporation (CPBC), which holds the FCC licenses for the television stations operated by MHz Networks, for more than 20 years.  The volunteer award was created following Mr. Bodorff’s two-year tenure as CPBC Board chairman.

The first annual Richard Bodorff MHz Volunteer Award recently went to Mr. Mohamed Hakki.  Mr. Hakki has more than 40 years of experience in international media and public relations and has spent much of his free time over the past 10 years giving advice to MHz Networks, helping the organization shape a broader understanding of Middle East issues and opportunities.
