Wiley Rein International Trade Practice Rated by Chambers USA as One of the Nation's Best

June 24, 2008

The 2008 edition of Chambers USA:  America’s Leading Lawyers for Business recognizes Wiley Rein’s International Trade Practice as one of the nation’s best, commending practice co-chairs Alan H. Price and Charles Owen Verrill, Jr. and partner, John B. Reynolds III as “Leading Lawyers” in the field.

Unlike many other leading international trade groups, Chambers recognizes that “Wiley Rein is well recognized in both import-side and export-side issues, reporting that clients and peers told the publisher that the group “gets results in all areas of trade.”  Representative of this, Chambers notes, while “most of the files it handles are of a trade remedies nature…[i]t offers further expertise in advising banks on economic sanctions, as well as advising on security aspects of foreign acquisitions of U.S. companies.”

Mr. Price, praised for his ability to “see the big picture, how to make it work and how to get the job done,” receives notice for his work in the trade remedies and trade policy arena, as does the “highly regarded” Mr. Verrill, who is lauded as a “Senior Statesman” in this area.

Mr. Reynolds, “a leading CFIUS practitioner,” is rated in the top tier of experts in this area, and also is commended as a leading lawyer in the area of export controls and economic sanctions for his work advising a range of clients on foreign investment transactions, economic sanctions, export controls, anti-boycott compliance and FCPA compliance.

The Chambers ratings are based on extensive interviews of law firms’ clients, colleagues and competitors.  Inclusion in the directory is determined through a rigorous vetting process whereby Chambers researchers evaluate law firms and attorneys on a number of factors.
