Wiley Rein's Daniel J. Standish to Begin Term as President of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society

Daniel J. Standish, chair of Wiley Rein's Insurance Practice, will begin serving a one-year term as president of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) on November 12, 2010. PLUS, a non-profit organization founded in 1986, today includes over 6,000 individual members representing more than 1,000 companies in the professional liability field. PLUS receives support from more than 200 companies through corporate sponsorships, and is recognized as the leading provider of professional liability educational programs.

Prior to serving as president, Mr. Standish held a number of leadership roles in PLUS, including vice president, secretary-treasurer and membership on the Board of Trustees. Widely recognized as a leading attorney in professional liability insurance coverage matters and disputes, Mr. Standish is rated by Chambers USA in its top tier of Washington, DC insurance lawyers. He is a former Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia and is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School and Bowdoin College.
