The National Law Journal Names Bert Rein a Washington "Visionary"

The National Law Journal today named Wiley Rein founding partner Bert W. Rein to a select group of 20 "Visionary" Washington attorneys who have "advanced the practice of law" with results that extend "far beyond the Beltway." 

In selecting Mr. Rein, the publication reported he has "built a career as a classic Washington lawyer with a finger in antitrust, food and drug regulation, communications law, commercial litigation" and politics.  Mr. Rein was also lauded for helping to guide the firm he founded in 1983, which "has evolved from startup into a pillar of the Washington legal establishment."

The National Law Journal described several highlights of Mr. Rein's "diverse Washington legal career," including representing whistleblowers in fraud suits against government contractors, serving as a long-time adviser of satellite communications giant Intelsat, and guiding the International Air Transport Association through the maze of competition rules governing the airline industry.

Later this year, Mr. Rein will argue his first case before the U.S. Supreme Court in Fisher v. University of Texas, a constitutional challenge to the university's race-based admission policies.

Mr. Rein was previously named a "Leading Food and Drug Lawyer"  by the Legal Times, which described him as a premier antitrust and commercial litigator and international law expert.
