Richard E. Wiley Receives Digital Television Pioneer Award at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention
Washington, DC-Richard E. Wiley, founding partner of the Washington, D.C. law firm Wiley, Rein and Fielding was conferred the 2000 Digital Pioneer Award by Broadcasting & Cable magazine on April 10, 2000. The magazine chose Mr. Wiley for his developmental efforts and outstanding contributions in advancing digital television. He joined two other honorees in receiving the award at the National Association of Broadcasters' "NAB2000" conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mr. Wiley has received numerous awards for his work in the digital television arena. On December 20, 1999, he was named to Broadcasting & Cable magazine's "Hall of Fame" and was described as one of the 100 most influential individuals in the broadcasting and cable industry during the twentieth century. In addition, in 1998, Mr. Wiley received an Emmy from the Academy of Television Arts and Science in recognition of his nine year service as Chairman of the FCC's Advisory Committee on Digital Television.
Mr. Wiley is a senior partner at Wiley Rein & Fielding, which has the largest communications practice in the United States.
