Wiley Partner Lukman Azeez Elected to D.C. Bar Board of Governors for Three-Year Term

Washington, DC – Wiley, a preeminent DC law firm, is pleased to announce that partner Lukman Azeez was elected to the District of Columbia Bar’s Board of Governors for a three-year term. Lukman was among five appointments made to the Board, as announced by the D.C. Bar following its annual elections.

All newly elected officers, board members, and delegates to the D.C. Bar will take office on June 22 during the association’s annual meeting and awards dinner in Washington.

The D.C. Bar is governed by a Board of Governors composed of 20 lawyers selected by the active membership, and three members of the public appointed by the Board itself as nonvoting members. In addition to advising and assisting the President of the Bar with respect to policy matters, the Board of Governors also serves as the Board of Directors for the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center.

Lukman is a trial and appellate litigator, representing clients in commercial disputes, constitutional and civil rights law, and U.S. Supreme Court and appellate litigation. He litigates a wide array of commercial cases, ranging from contract, fraud, and misappropriation disputes to shareholder and derivative actions, and intellectual property and trademark disputes. He also represents clients in international litigations and arbitrations and litigates before courts and various administrative agencies.

A rising star in his practice, Lukman has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America among “Ones to Watch” for Appellate Practice, Commercial Litigation, and Criminal Defense: White Collar.

Lukman also has an active pro bono practice and previously served as President (2021-2022) and Treasurer (2020-2021) of the Capital Area Muslim Bar Association.
