Wiley Receives ‘Stephen J. Pollak Pro Bono Award’ from the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center
Washington, DC – Wiley Rein LLP, a preeminent DC law firm, is pleased to announce that the firm’s Pro Bono Practice has been recognized with a Stephen J. Pollak Pro Bono Award by the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center.
“We are pleased and proud to be honored with the Stephen J. Pollak Pro Bono Award,” said Pro Bono Partner Theodore A. Howard. “This award, which recognizes the steadfast and enduring relationship between Wiley and the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center, is the product of 30 years of dedication and effort by my present and former colleagues at Wiley and the D.C. Bar, and we look forward to many more years of partnership ahead.”
The award is in recognition of the firm’s long-standing relationship with the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center’s Advocacy & Justice Clinic, which Wiley helped found in 1993, and the countless hours of pro bono work done by Wiley attorneys in more than 350 individual full representation cases referred to the firm by the clinic over the past three decades. The award is named for the late Stephen Pollak, a legendary member of the DC Bar and volunteer at the Advocacy & Justice Clinic, who was passionate about increasing access to justice for low-income DC residents.
The award will be presented at the D.C. Bar’s Advocacy & Justice Clinic’s 30th Anniversary Celebration on October 1 in Washington.
Founded in 1978, the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center is the largest pro bono legal services provider in the District of Columbia, serving over 20,000 individuals, nonprofits, and small businesses each year.
