Wiley Rein’s Insurance Practice Named a Finalist for ‘Legal Team of the Year’ by Business Insurance Magazine
Washington, DC—Wiley Rein’s Insurance Practice was named one of one of five national finalists for “Legal Team of the Year” by Business Insurance (BI) magazine in its inaugural U.S. Insurance Awards. New for 2018, the awards program highlights exceptional work by insurance professionals in the commercial insurance and risk management sector, while also raising money to address the industry’s talent crisis by funding the BI Scholarship Endowment.
A panel of risk managers will assess 65 finalists in 14 categories, and the highest-scoring team in each category will be announced at a gala awards dinner in New York on March 8.
The awards event will help raise funds for the BI endowment, which will open new opportunities to provide scholarships, grants, and programming at universities without risk management degree programs, including historically black colleges and universities.
Wiley Rein’s Insurance Group is one of the most prominent insurer-side practices in the United States, with a deep bench of 35 lawyers. The team provides strategic counseling and litigation services to insurers on professional liability; general liability; property; and cyber, technology, and media insurance issues. In high-profile and business-critical matters, insurers rely on the firm’s deep knowledge of the insurance industry and underlying exposures; effective negotiation at the mediation table; and persuasive advocacy in trial, appellate, and bankruptcy courts nationwide.
