• Submitted an expert report and provided deposition and hearing testimony on behalf of multiple insurance carriers in an arbitration involving an environmental event. Applied a statistical model to estimate the start of the event to determine insurance coverage.
• Submitted an expert affidavit rebutting a proposed statistical sampling plan in a matter involving usual, customary, and reasonable rates for out-of-network emergency services on behalf of a national health insurer.
• Submitted an expert affidavit regarding a statistical sampling protocol in an arbitration involving contractual disputes between a healthcare provider and an insurer. Arbitration panel adopted the approach outlined in the affidavit.
• Submitted multiple expert affidavits in energy and construction reinsurance arbitrations assessing the opposing experts’ damages extrapolation methodologies and interest calculations based on samples of claims.

• Provided consulting expertise in an arbitration involving a payor-provider contract dispute. Evaluated a neutral statistician’s extrapolation of damages, penalties, and interest based on a healthcare claims audit.
• Provided consulting expertise on the design of a consumer survey in a matter involving allegations of fraudulently opened consumer financial products.
• Provided consulting expertise on the design and analysis of multiple consumer surveys assessing market definition in a technology monopolization case.
• Provided consulting expertise and designed statistical sampling plans across multiple matters involving pharmaceutical pricing and fraud, including evaluating alternative sampling plans and providing strategic guidance on sampling and discovery approaches.
• Provided consulting expertise for a chain of healthcare providers facing a government investigation related to the alleged upcoding of claims submitted for Medicare reimbursement. Assessed the Department of Justice’s sampling and extrapolation methodology and evaluated liability and damages using transactional claims data.
