The ATA Litigation Center’s annual forum for Motor Carrier General Counsel was held July 17 through July 20 in Bellevue, WA. The forum is exclusively for motor carrier legal counsel, industry executives and professionals, and the organizations that support the industry.

In a breakout session, “It’s a Matter of Control…or is it? Broker/Logistics Liability and the Coercion Rule,” Lew Bricker discussed the driver coercion rule and what motor carriers need to know in order to comply. Brokers, logistic firms and carriers can all be held liable when a load goes missing or an accident occurs.
