"2016 JOBS Act Updates: Critical Changes in Capital Formation Rules" covered pertinent topics especially on new rules and regulations that became effective May 2016. Karen Tobin, along with co-presenters, discussed how crowdfunding has evolved throughout the years, how the JOBS Act affects crowdfunding, and restrictions placed on securities offered through crowdfunding. The seminar was presented by the Illinois State Bar Association Business & Securities Law Section.
The presenters also discussed Regulation D and Regulation A and how they have affected capital raises. Attendees learned how to limit exposure to malpractice as well as new developments in gatekeeper liability.
