Handled Labor Negotiations for Food Processing Client in a Successor Collective Bargaining Agreement
Overview
Amundsen Davis handled labor negotiations for a successor collective bargaining agreement for the Freeport, IL operations of a well-known food processor. This was a unique negotiation as this was the first collective bargaining agreement under a new ownership group since purchasing the a related food processing company in 2011. When our client purchased this related company, the acquisition already had a union workforce with a collective bargaining agreement that needed to be modified in order to allow management the ability and flexibility to better manage the workforce. After three months of intense negotiations, Jeffrey Risch successfully secured a working agreement in line with the new ownership’s demands. The business is now in a position to expand the production in Freeport, IL while lessening the financial burdens historically associated with this particular operation. The matter was finalized in March of that year.
