Overview
Attorney Michael Cortina, announced his candidacy for the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) 3rd Vice President. The ISBA is among the largest voluntary state bar associations in the country with approximately 28,000 lawyer members.
Mike has been an active member of the ISBA for the past decade, including being appointed a member of the Real Estate Law Section Council, the Bench and Bar Section Council and the Past Chair of the Commercial Banking Collections and Bankruptcy Section Council, among other positions. As Chair of the ISBA’s Commercial Banking, Collections & Bankruptcy Section Council, Mike was instrumental in bringing CLE programs to all parts of Illinois, giving lawyers in rural areas an opportunity to engage in discussions and build relationships with other lawyers. Mike’s goal as 3rd Vice President is to encourage inclusion for all areas of the state. Mike said of his candidacy, “I am running for 3rd Vice President because I want to work to make it so that the ISBA truly works for the entire state.”
Mike is the co-chair of Amundsen Davis’s Financial Services Practice Group and a partner in the firm’s Real Estate and Bankruptcy Practice Groups. Mike is a well-rounded banking attorney with extensive experience representing banks in various types of litigation. He also drafts and reviews loan documents and represents creditors in all types of matters related to the United States Bankruptcy Code.
