Heather Bailey has been named a Woman of Influence by Chicago Business. The list recognizes women business leaders in the Chicago area who “innovate, succeed and ‘pay it forward,’ who stand out both for their achievements in the marketplace as well as their commitment to community and mentoring.”
Heather, a partner in the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group, focuses her nationwide practice on employment and labor litigation, including discrimination and trade secret/non-compete lawsuits, FLSA class actions, labor negotiations, labor arbitrations, Affirmative Action, OFCCP/DOL audits, and FINRA matters. Heather has emerged as a thought leader in the labor and employment industry and is a frequent contributor to the Illinois Chamber of Commerce’s HR Advisory blog and the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) Quarterly In-Touch magazine and Automatic Merchandiser/VendingMarketWatch publications for the vending industry, co-author of the 2011 Illinois Chamber of Commerce’s Illinois Guide to Hiring and Firing, and presenter at the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the Chicago Bar Association, Lorman Education Services, and NAMA-related conventions across the U.S.
In addition to her rigorous work on behalf of her clients, Heather serves as the Co-Chair of the Amundsen Davis Committee for Diversity and Inclusion where she works with the team to uphold the firm’s diversity mission and advance firm-wide diversity initiatives. In this capacity, she has planned and executed multiple events for both clients and staff to raise awareness in the community, many of which involved the promotion of local diverse companies. Also very active in the community, she is the Vice President of the Board for the Professional Women’s Club of Chicago and regularly volunteers and fundraises for the Special Olympics - Chicago for its Annual Polar Plunge and Children’s Home + Aid annual golf event.
The exceptional list, comprised of 46 Chicago area women, was compiled from nominations from association partners, entrepreneurs, business owners, and executives. The final honorees were selected by a group of American City Business Journal editors. The honor is part of a national effort by American City Business Journals to highlight women business leaders in their communities, and develop corporate environments to encourage continual growth and success of women in business in the future.
