Overview
On January 17, 2017, the Illinois Appellate Court, First District, issued an opinion in a case centering around the Clerk of Courts Act, found at 705 ILCS 105/27.2a(g)(2), which authorizes clerks in counties with a population of 3,000,000 or more to impose a fee for filing a petition to vacate or modify “any final judgment or order of court.”
