USLAW featured an article written by Lew Bricker in their July 19, 2016 edition of DigiKnow, "The Coercion Rule – We Think it is Only a Matter of Time."
The article discusses a regulation the FMCSA adopted in November 2015 that prohibits motor carriers, shippers, receivers, or transportation intermediaries from coercing drivers to operate commercial motor vehicles in violation of certain provisions of the FMCSRs.
The areas of prohibition include hours of service, CDL regulations, drug and alcohol testing and hazardous materials regulations. The rule became effective on January 29, 2016.
