Ryan Jacobson started his career at Amundsen Davis and has risen to be a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and chair of the Entertainment, Media, and Reputation Management Service Groups. The latest issue of Chicago-Kent Magazine shows his ascent in free speech work. Ryan used his experience as a competitor with Chicago-Kent College of Law’s Moot Court Honor Society to get started in defamation law at Amundsen Davis and earn the trust of the firm’s leadership, especially of his mentor, Larry Schechtman. A veteran of the firm, Ryan is now a mentor to younger attorneys.

For all of his clients, Ryan knows that “our reputation is a prized but fragile possession” and he has worked to protect that through a changing landscape that now includes social media platforms and artificial intelligence. Steve Bernas, president and CEO of the Better Business Bureau of Chicago and Northern Illinois, regularly works in tandem with Ryan for the betterment of their clients. Steve has regularly seen how “Ryan helps us bridge the gap for the betterment of the industry as a whole.” Ryan credits both the work and life lessons he learned at Chicago-Kent as a reason for success throughout his career. In Pam Kentra’s Mediation and Dispute Resolution course, he learned that in addition to the regular paperwork of his job, “We’re here to help real people solve real problems.”
